I was born an artist..... Painting, drawing and music have been my passions since childhood. I pursued my education, studying Illustration with marvelous instructors at School of Visual Arts, and the Arts Students League, which I am a lifetime member. I started M.S. Design Studio in the Flatiron district NYC in 1989 and Melinda's Window Advertising and Murals in 83 and have kept busy with a steady stream of clients ever since. The artfield has been an exciting and challenging one for me. My most recently completed project is The Windmill of Hoboken Wall of Fame mural' illustrating notable celebs as Sinatra's Rack Pack to NJ's Danny Aiello and Governor Christie. I've worked on many interesting projects with clients such as Arthur Shimkin of Golden Books and Sesame Street fame doing illustration, graphic, package, logo design and murals. My commercial work has been book cover, video and audio packaging and a commission for the Hudson County Sports Hall of Fame.
Window advertising clients include Burger KIng, MCDonalds Dunkin Donuts to name a few.
My fine art style is mostly realistic with subject matter ranging from music related portraits, historical subjects, landscapes and animals. I regularly exhibit in local and national shows clinching several awards. A recent highlight has been the pleasure of presenting Sir Paul with a print of my Beatles Quad painting which I believe is in London. Commercial and fine art work keeps me busy and I'm an active member with several art organizations including the Graphic Artist Guild, Manasquan River Group, Ocean Artist Guild , Belmar Arts Council, the Hudson Artists and recently inducted into the prestigious Audobon Artists at the Salmagundi Club in NYC. My interests remain Art, Photography, Music and Travel. Check out my new photography section. I will be posting a wide selection of interesting images taken throughout my lifelong journey of travels.
